MATERIALS

Zbrush, Photoshop, Zoom, Good internet and Audio/Video Setup

Throughout the journey, students will start by focusing on the blockout stage - establishing the character’s basic forms, proportions and silhouette to lay a strong foundation.

From there, we’ll dive into the refinement of key features. Students will also learn how to sculpt stylized clothing and accessories that add personality, as well as detailed assets like hair and any unique elements that define your character’s style.

By the final week, we’ll bring all elements together, applying polish to ensure a smooth, cohesive look and setting up a final render to showcase a beautifully finishes, high-quality character bust that’s ready to be added to your portfolio.

This class will go over how to use Substance Painter as a tool for texturing game characters. We’ll go over good practices on how to UV a character, bake required maps inside the substance, and set up a scene.

We will also go over how to make textured props, cloths, skin for a character’s face and body (all required mesh provided).

By the end of this class, students will have their textured assets presented inside their engine of choice.

This course is about learning techniques using Substance Painter that students can later apply to their own projects.
