PREREQUISITES
Basic painting and modelling skills, Skilled in a 3d application like Maya or Blender.
Prerequisites course : Zbrush for complete beginner, Character texturing for games in substance painter
MATERIALS
Maya/Blender, Photoshop, Substance Painter, Unreal engine, Zoom, Good internet and Audio/Video Setup
Throughout this 4-week course, students will work hands-on to create a fully-realized game-ready model.
Starting by building a high-poly model, where they’ll learn essential modeling techniques, refine shapes and add detail that will bring the assets to life. Students will then transform the high-poly model into a low-poly version, mastering techniques to optimize for game performance while maintaining essential details. Later students will dive into UV unwrapping and Baking concluding the course with Texturing and integrating the model into Unreal Engine.
By the end students will have a game-ready model ready for their portfolio, demonstrating key skills from high-poly modeling to final engine integration.

This class will go over how to use Substance Painter as a tool for texturing game characters. We’ll go over good practices on how to UV a character, bake required maps inside the substance, and set up a scene.
We will also go over how to make textured props, cloths, skin for a character’s face and body (all required mesh provided).
By the end of this class, students will have their textured assets presented inside their engine of choice.
This course is about learning techniques using Substance Painter that students can later apply to their own projects.
